Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide our Service:
- Google OAuth: For secure user authentication
- Google Drive API: For optionally importing user-selected documents as podcast source material (read-only access)
- PostHog: For analytics and product improvement
- Google Text-to-Speech: For generating podcast audio
- ElevenLabs: For premium voice synthesis
Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing the use of your information.
Google Drive Access
Samma optionally allows you to import content from your Google Drive to use as source material for generating podcast scripts. This feature is entirely opt-in and requires your explicit action each time it is used.
What Data Is Accessed
We only access files that you explicitly select through the Google Drive Picker interface. We request read-only access (drive.readonly scope) and never browse, list, or read any files beyond what you actively choose to share with us.
How the Data Is Used
The content of your selected file is used solely to generate your podcast script. We do not store the raw file content beyond the duration of that single processing request. The file content is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than generating the podcast you requested.
No Background Access
Samma never accesses your Google Drive in the background or without a direct action from you. Drive access only occurs when you initiate it through the app.
Google API Limited Use Compliance
Our use of data obtained from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the Service, and we do not use it for any secondary purposes.
Revoking Access
You can revoke Samma's access to your Google Drive at any time by visiting your Google Account permissions page and removing Samma from the list of connected apps.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt-out: Opt out of certain data collection practices

Data Retention
